Overview
What is B1 German?
B1 is the first of the two ‘independent user’ CEFR levels. At B1 you can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters, deal with most situations while travelling or living in a German-speaking area, produce simple connected text on familiar topics, and describe experiences, hopes and plans with brief reasons.

Follows B1 Netzwerk – Deutsch als Fremdsprache. GCA students have passed the Goethe-Zertifikat B1 after a 30-day online B1 course.

How long does the B1 course take?

Does the B1 course prepare me for the Goethe B1 exam?
Yes. The course includes Goethe and telc B1 model papers, timed practice and speaking rehearsals.
Is B1 required for nursing in Germany?
B1 is a common milestone, while many nursing recognition routes ask for B2. Requirements vary by route and federal state, so confirm the current requirement for your pathway.
Can I join B1 directly?
If you already have A2-level German, yes. GCA does a quick level check before admission.
