Choosing a level

Which German level should I start with?

If you have never studied German, start with A1. If you have studied before — at school, online or at another institute — we do a short level check so you start exactly where you are.

Your target matters too. Many nursing and Ausbildung routes ask for B1 or B2; German-taught university degrees usually require C1. Tell us your goal and we’ll map the levels and exam dates for you.

Which German level should I start with?

If you have never studied German, start with A1. If you have studied before, GCA does a short level check and places you in A1, A2, B1 or B2 so you don't repeat or skip anything.

How long does A1 take?

The classroom A1 runs 3.5 hours a day for 30 working days; online A1 runs 1 hour a day for 35 working days.

Do you offer online classes?

Yes. All levels from A1 to B2, plus B2 exam preparation, are available as live online classes with a teacher — not recorded videos.

Do you provide A1 to B2 training?

Yes. GCA teaches A1, A2, B1 and B2 using the Netzwerk – Deutsch als Fremdsprache series, so the progression is continuous.

Do you provide Goethe preparation?

Yes. Goethe-Zertifikat preparation from A1 to B2 is part of every course, with model papers and speaking rehearsals.
